Group Water Hunt

I had the wonderful oppurtunity to go waterdetecting with 2 other fellow water detectorists and couldnt pass it up. And am I glad I didnt. Great guys..they routinely travel a bit to check different water locations and where headed to my area.

We had a lot of fun detecting and swapping stories. I also learned alot from watching them and they even gave me some pointers to pinpoint my targets better.

I always have fun going out and detecting..even going solo. But given the chance I will group up again for the opportunity to share the hunt, experience the comraderie and fun, enjoy seeing someone else make a find and being able to help with the learning experience.

I very sparingly video'd these guys...my vids can be a tad strange. Even though they agreed to let me film. I kept it to a minimum. Might have to go straight and be respectable if I keep detecting with others. HMM>> no, that would be boring.

Hope you enjoyed the hunt...more to come.

Water hunt with a twist

I know,I know..I have not been making videos for some time. I have not stopped metal detecting its just hard to find the balance. I really enjoy making vids..the whole process from ideas on a plot to filming to final edit and posting and hearing the comments.

Problem is...when you are out on a hunt if you do one it takes time away from the other. Trying to get decent vid shots is very time consuming and takes away from the "fun factor" of just going out and finding coins/jewelry.

I guess what I really need to get is some kind of a "hat cam" so I can just turn it on rolling continuous footage and sort it out later. That would be ideal for me. If anyone knows of any out there plz message me.

I am always doing the cam juggle out there:)

Had a lot of fun making this vid..hope you get some entertainment out of it. After I started water hunting and watching others vids what I loved most and was lacking was underwater shots which I included lots of in this vid.

The Settlement continued..

OK, this got started by taking a weird idea and making it WEIRDER. Wasnt sure if I wanted to publish this as its putting myself out there...alot.

So I got the idea to give people a choice...watch it straight up detecting OR see what my tormented mind has come up with this time. Either way you watch it I hope you are entertained!!

The Settlement

I have wanted to do something with aliens for quite a while. Finally felt semi secure enough in my abilities to try to tackle this one. What you wont see it that the Oregon coast is plauged by bugs and mosquitos. I forgot my repellent and was covered in bites.

I had to wait till the next day to finish filming some scenes till the swelling went down. The finds there..OMG..great!! I do plan on going back again and exploring further. Originally I had filmed the scene where I found the Merc. and then refilmed it with cam in same place. When I refilmed I went in the background with a homeade alien mask and was going to "haunt the scene" and try to blend the two together.

That didnt work out so well, have to practice with that "ghosting" technique a bit more. Oh well, live and learn...its all for fun!!

Interactive video is now live on youtube!!

Wow!! This was a lot of work, but fun. I was splicing and shooting scenes till my eyes where bleeding,literally..LOL.

Overall I like the way it turned out. For future projects I will actually make a REAL green screen to use and get a external mic. My new cam seems to only capture sound to about 4 feet away.

Tried dubbing in some sound....that didnt work so well. Have you ever tried to have a script and try to read it and watch the lips move to get it to sync correctly?? I have a much higher opinion of what voice actors do now.

I dont know that much more can be done with interactive for mding though..Well, not without a lot of time and a budget. Although I would like to try interactive again at some point...We'll see:) Safe travels all, Weirdparkguy

The LAKE ...behind the scenes

Phew!!!! This was tough. I think I have aged 10 years in 2 weeks over this process.

First...I got a new HD vid cam and new software for editing. I loved the cam, shot all kinds of footage and went to the edit board only to loose an entire hunt vid shoot with my girls.

Seems that my computer cannot handle the requirements for HD and neither can the software. I am not a tech guy....at all. I spent many a late nite reformatting, installing new drivers, updating virtual memory, following troubleshooting tips, rebooting, defraging...LOL< you get the picture.

Luckily I was able to exchange the HD cam for a new SD cam that works very well. Its waterproof to 10', dustproof, shockproof. HMM..have to see if its weirdparkguy proof, only time will tell. I really like this new unit though.

I absolutely loved the last intro (western shootout spoof) and wanted to do somethign similiar here. Highlander is not exactly a mainstream movie series BUT, its one I love. This was my humble attempt to make a go at it. That is my voice impersonating Sean Connery and Christopher Lamberts laugh.

EDIT**just edited out that part, tried to clean up the quality but it didnt take***EDIT 7/30/10

The "convict portrayed is actually a very nice guy and would like any eligible ladies to know that he is single", he is one of our loyal customers at the store I manage.

I would have had a vid out last week except for technical difficulties. Ironman was "forced" to spend a day with his wife and will be back hunting with me next weekend. We have BIG plans and ideas!!

Safe travels all....thx for watching and reading,
